  I had a smooth experience. Business hours start at 9 but the office was opened at 9:10. I did not have the print out of the appointment confirmation, but they have the printer facility and charge $2 for a printout. The lady reviewed all the documents and gave the receipt. She even gave the opportunity to review the details in the computer screen. The whole process just took 5 minutes. She explained how to track the application and how long it would take. They have started accepting credit cards for payment. Advice for applicants: - Have all the documents as per the website arranged in order. Ensure notarization is present in the required documents. Website doesn't mention about appointment confirmation email. Have a printout of the confirmation email with appointment date and time - Be on time for the appointment. - Lot of road constructions around. Plan your route accordingly. There is enough parking space in the building.

  Like another reviewer said, I'm not sure why this place gets a poor rating. My experience here was excellent! I started early to account for traffic, and ended up reaching 45 mins before my appointment time. They called me in nonetheless, and processed my case immediately. Both the ladies working there are polite and seem very efficient. I didn't when I went, but my husband saw many people who didn't have their documents prepared properly complain there. It's not their demand for documents, it's the government of India that requires those, so be prepared. Don't harass those who ladies who are just trying to do their jobs well.

  Not sure why this place gets a poor rating. The lady who accepted my application was very helpful despite the fact that I was a few minutes late. She processed all the documents quickly and provided a tracking number. The only thing is the instructions on the website can be better organized/worded.

  Looks like BLS got its contract the way other companies get it in India. They never pick up their call. And website s**ks. It is so hard to get anything. For example. on passport order form you need to mention airway bill number. But you cannot get airway bill number until you have passport order form. Govt is giving the work to these companies so that they can do better, but these are hopeless. I really feel proud to be an Indian, but when it comes to deal with passport renewal, I really want to get get rid of the passport.
