- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I hired the Matthews firm years ago to do patent work. I kept sending instructions and questions to my attorney for over 6 months without response. I finally called and spoke to the owner who told me that my attorney had lost his license to practice and they did not even contact me to let me know this information! When I asked what the hell? The owner asked if I was "that fired attorneys client or a client of the firm?" #seriously!!! 6 Months without work getting done? Then A second attorney working on my patents left the firm dropping the ball and they AGAIN did not call me to let me know that my attorney was gone. Twice I had to re-explain things to them. They made other egregious mistakes like neglecting to alter the title of my patent, changing words in the claims and other issues which I have documented in emails. I have learned that they neglected to keep alive information in one of my patents (legal advice) that broke the chain of custody!!! Lastly, when I confronted the owner about all this he threatened me that he would defend him self with great vigor instead of apologizing and meeting with me to work out something. Horrible firm. Absolutely 3rd-class. YES I CAN DOCUMENT EVERY WORD I HAVE SAID! DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A NOVICE INVENTOR. THEY WILL LET YOU DOWN HORRIBLY!By Chris Norman, September 04, 2017
