  My father is a retired 71 year old man. He recently paid cash for a six month insurance policy to save a little money over his normal policy carrier. This Nationwide agent later added unexpected fees for not using electronic billing. My dad then requested a refund for all since this was not expected and he did not have a means to provide electronic billing, noting he paid cash for entire six months in advance . After much hassle from the agents and calling the corporate office we were able to have him sign a letter of cancellation to get a refund. That letter of cancellation was signed at the agents office. As learned from the corporate office the agent never sent it in and the agent reported that instead the cancellation showed to occur 15 days after it was actually dated to occur on the document. The agent was not at all cooperative to my father regarding the cancellation, and was down right insubordinate. My father felt like he was handled very unprofessionally. We ended up getting all matters resolved thru the corporate office instead. We have been asked by corporate office to channel all communications thru them and no longer the agent. My father will never use this agent again.
