  Pleasantly surprised! I arrived 15 in before they opened, they had already formed lines. One of the employees started handing out tickets in the lines and directed people to one of 4 different lines depending on what they needed. At 9 AM they started letting people in (security check) and let them continue the line inside. I got served at ca. 9:15. The staff was very respectful and helpful. Something didn't work on my application and she took the time to try again and then it worked. I'm definitely pleasantly surprised at how efficient polite they were, especially for a government office. My only advice is to avoid brining a bag. It takes a while to search them and they let people without bags enter immediately, so they were at the front of the line.... Bring a pen for the form and maybe a book/phone in case the wait does get longer than expected but a bag will only cost you time.

  I had been to this SSN office for my Spouse's SSN and the response was really great. I went on Wednesday when office closes at 12, i reached at 11:55, they let me in. Jina handled my case, and she was extremely helpful, polite and nice. We were out of the office by 12:20. I had been to SSN office at Jersey for myself and never found the staff to be so friendly and responsive.

  The folks in the SSA office are doing a tough, and often thankless, job so give them the benefit of the doubt. The staff, especially the security personnel work to get people though efficiently. I observed that the difficulties in moving people through were the customers themselves being unprepared and the poor staffing level of the office. for the customer delays, there were lots of people who were called to the windows who hadn't even filled out the paperwork. For the staffing, there are dozens of desks with only a few staff members working. That is the fault of the administration, not the staff members. That being said, today it took me 1.5 hours (11:30 to 13:00) to order a replacement card, something you should be able to do online! And speaking of online, why is the web site only available during working hours? It is a computer system folks, you don't have to pay computers overtime!
